All Along the Watch Tower - Guitar Cover and Lesson

Welcome to Guitar is Easy!

I am posting this cover of All Along the Watchtower as I love it. It is combination of Dave Mathews band's vocals and the Pace of Bob Dylan. This song was also performed by the Bob Dylan but has been covered by many artists over time. This is undoubtedly one of the coolest songs ever.

chords used:

Am, G, F

Chords and Lyrics:

Am G F
There must be some kind of way out of here
    Am G F
Said the joker to the thief
    Am G F
There's too much confusion
    Am G F
I can't get no relief
    Am G F
Business men they drink my wine
    Am G F
Plowmen dig my earth
    Am G F
No one would ever compromise
    Am G F
No one of this world

The same pattern of the chords continues for the remainder of the song...

No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I we've been through that
And this is not our place
So let us stop talking falsely now
The hour's getting late

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants too
Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl

All along the watchtower

All along the watchtower

All along the watchtower

If this song doesn't get you to start riffing on the Am scale, nothing will. This is a must for any guitarist.

Cheers!
